Our People

Our People

Our educators form a diverse, multicultural team. They are bright, enthusiastic people who genuinely love their job and view their role as a partnership with children and families.

All of our lead educators and teachers have early childhood education qualifications. Ongoing staff development and training ensure that the team keeps up-to-date with new learning strategies and are empowered to make informed choices.

“We have an amazing, diverse team here at Bruce who I take great pride in mentoring and helping to go above and beyond. We truly do support each other as we achieve great things for ourselves and our families. I personally love watching the children in our care grow and develop. Some of them come to us at just six weeks of age and don’t leave us until they are six years old, so we establish really strong bonds with the children and mutually rewarding relationships with the families."

What makes you passionate about working in child care? My philosophy is based on my strengths and passion in regards to the enhancement of the education and wellbeing of children.  To achieve this, the establishment of collaborative, positive and long lasting relationships with children, their families and the educator team are a priority.  The foundations to achieving this require me being reliable, trustworthy and showing commitment to the people and my work.  Building partnerships of trust and collaboration enhances opportunity and depth of learning.  Ensures that all feel secure in their roles enabling the development of a sense of ownership and belonging, allowing us grow and learn together and support one another along the journey.  Always acknowledging and embracing families as the first teaches of their children and their continuing role in their child’s education.

What is the funniest or most memorable moment you can share from working in child care? There are so many important and treasured memories it is hard to choose one. With my previous organisation, one of our original babies enrolled her child with me at the centre I was then manager of.  There have been many children and families (too many to count) for this to happen where a child from my care and education sort me out to enrol her own daughter with us was very special and I treasure the memory.

Why do you believe your centre is an excellent choice for parents seeking the best child care? We currently have a team of educators committed to building a positive and engaging atmosphere for all.  The environment is warm and welcoming with interesting and challenging spaces for children to engage in to develop to their full potential.  We are moving forward and willing to develop a positive and engaging learning environment where everyone can learn and develop – children, educators and our community.
